The UNLV General Education Core requirements must be completed by all baccalaureate degree candidates. Transfer students should confer with their dean or college advising center about course substitutions where appropriate.
Students who successfully complete the Core Curriculum of the Honors College automatically satisfy all of the General Education Core requirements.
Courses that satisfy the Nevada System of Higher Education Core requirements may simultaneously satisfy UNLV’s General Education Core requirements.
Students seeking a waiver of Core Requirements should petition the Faculty Senate General Education Committee at least two semesters before the proposed date of graduation.
Students who received an Associate of Arts, Associate of Business, or Associate of Science degree from one of the four Nevada State Community Colleges are considered to have satisfied the University of Nevada, Las Vegas General Education Core Requirements.
If a student with a bachelor’s degree from another accredited institution of higher learning comes to UNLV in order to earn a second bachelor’s degree, he or she must satisfy the NSHE graduation requirements.
