The UNLV Core Curriculum stipulates that you will undertake a number of specifically required courses in each field of study. These include Non-Distribution and Distribution requirements as well as Multicultural and International requirements.

In order to fulfill UNLV’s Distribution Requirement, students must take three courses, typically totaling 9-10 credit hours, in each of the two content areas outside of the student’s major field of study (see Distribution Requirement link for specifics about your major).

These two Distribution Requirements of our core allow your major department or college to determine what course work will be required in its own specialized area of study while still assuring that you will be exposed to a broadly liberal education.
